Judge Strikes out suit challenging the validity and making of Nigeria's 1999 constitution.

The federal high court seated in Ado Ekiti has struck out the suit challenging the validity of the 1999 constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria. In a press statement signed by the Ilana Omo Oodua worldwide communication secretary, the apex body agitating for the emergence of the Yoruba nation, Maxwell Adeleye, " Justice Banji Ikuewumi ruled out the case despite the fact that the respondent, attorney general of the federation, and the independent national electoral commission are yet to file a defense statement nor appear in court since the inception of the case".
In reaction, the lead counsel to Ilana Omo Oodua worldwide, Tolu Babaleye described the verdict as a miscarriage of justice and vow to appeal the judgment.
